Do I have to take Senior Seminar?

Yes, all seniors at CMTHS are required to take this class because it covers the Career Education and Work Standards that all high school students in Pennsylvania must learn.

 

Do I get a grade for this class?

Yes, you will receive task scores for the CEW Standards that will be calculated into your shop grade. There are three graded tasks per marking period for a total of 12 for the year.

 

How do I provide evidence of my work for my portfolio?

 

Photographs are a great way to show what you are capable of doing. For shops like Collision Repair and Cosmetology, taking before and after pictures are great evidence. For other classes, taking pictures of a presentation or project is great. You can take pictures with your own phone or camera and email them to me, or you may borrow one of the two Senior Seminar Digital Cameras.

 

How do I borrow a digital camera?

 

Just ask. Ask your instructor for a pass at the beginning of the day to come and get one. All cameras must be returned by the end of the session; they may not leave the building. The only exception is if your class is out of the building (Allied Health and PreNursing). I will download your photos from the camera and print them up for you.

 

What if I lose my resume or need another copy of it?

Not a problem. As long as I am an instructor here at CMTHS I will keep a copy of your resume. Just send me an email at the Contact link at the bottom of this page and I will send a copy to you.
